Sonatina in C majorOp. 36 No. 1 · II
Muzio Clementi
Difficulty 3
Score
The first movement of Clementi's Sonatina in C major, Op. 36 No. 1, the opening piece of his Six Sonatinas, first published in London in 1797. A bright Allegro in common time built from broken C major chords and running scales; after the repeat, the second half turns briefly to C minor before the opening theme returns. This edition follows Artaria's Vienna print of 1798–1799, compared with the London first edition and Clementi's later revised edition.
