The finale of Bartók's Piano Sonata, Sz. 80 (1926), an Allegro molto in folk-dance style. Its opening tune returns between contrasting episodes, and the metre changes constantly, from 1/4 to 9/8. This edition follows the first Universal Edition engraving of 1927, with its printed fingering and thumb indications.
