Nocturne in F majorOp. 6 No. 2

The Notturno in F major, the second of Clara Wieck's Soirées musicales, Op. 6, published by Hofmeister in Leipzig in 1836, when she was sixteen. Marked Andante con moto in 6/8, its singing melody is decorated with small notes and free runs; a Più mosso middle section leads back to Tempo I. Robert Schumann later quoted its melody in his Novellette Op. 21 No. 8. This edition follows the 1836 Hofmeister first edition.
