Norwegian MelodyOp. 12 No. 6

Norsk (Norwegian Melody), the sixth of the eight pieces in Grieg's first book of Lyric Pieces, Op. 12, published in Copenhagen in 1867. Marked Presto marcato, in D major and 3/4, its sharply accented tune runs over long held notes in the left hand; a quiet middle section in F major moves in chords before the opening returns. This edition follows the Peters edition with Adolf Ruthardt's fingering.
