Liszt's piano transcription of Danse macabre, the symphonic poem Saint-Saëns wrote in 1874: Death plays his fiddle at midnight and the skeletons dance a waltz in G minor until dawn. Liszt made the transcription in 1876. This edition follows a Durand print from the 1876 plate and includes Liszt's ossias, among them a short ending that closes the piece early.
