The last of Liszt's three Liebesträume, nocturnes he made from his own songs and published in Leipzig in 1850; this one comes from his setting of Freiligrath's 'O lieb, so lang du lieben kannst'. The melody sings in the middle of the keyboard inside flowing arpeggios, breaks off into two cadenzas, rises to a passionate climax and slows to a soft close. This edition follows Kistner's print.
