Hungarian Rhapsody No. 2S.244 No.2

Franz Liszt

  • Difficulty 9
  • C-sharp minor
  • 9 min
  • 463 measures

The second of Liszt's Hungarian Rhapsodies, S. 244, written in 1847 and published by Senff in Leipzig in 1851. A slow, free lassan in C-sharp minor, with improvisatory runs, leads to a fast friska that drives to a brilliant close in F-sharp major. This edition follows Senff's first edition and leaves out the optional ossia passages.
