The second of Rachmaninoff's five Morceaux de fantaisie, Op. 3, written in 1892. Three tolling chords open a slow lament; an agitated middle section leads back to the theme in heavy chords across the keyboard. Edited from John A. Preston's Bosworth edition of 1896, with its fingering, and compared with a Gutheil print.
