Prelude in G-sharp minorOp. 32 No. 12
Sergei Rachmaninoff
Difficulty 8
Score
The first movement of Rachmaninoff's Second Piano Sonata in its original 1913 version: an Allegro agitato that plunges in with a run from the top of the keyboard and sets stormy, densely written passages against a broad, singing second theme. This edition follows the first Gutheil print of 1914, with its fingering, hand indications and the lines that lead a part from one hand to the other.
