Claude Debussy
Score
Debussy's waltz La plus que lente, "the more than slow", published by Durand in 1910, its title a play on the fashionable slow waltz of the day. Marked Lent (Molto rubato con morbidezza), it is in G-flat major and 3/4, with constant changes of pace written into the score: Retenu, En serrant, Cédez, Animé. A middle section moves to A major before the opening returns. This edition follows the 1910 Durand engraving.
