ArabesqueOp. 100 No. 2
Friedrich Burgmüller
Score
The third of Friedrich Burgmüller's 25 Études faciles et progressives, Op. 100, an Andantino in G major in 6/8, marked p dolce cantabile. A right-hand melody with grace notes opens alone, then sings over left-hand eighth-note chords; bars 3–10 are repeated. After a middle passage the melody returns p dolce in bar 19, and the piece ends pp after a rising staccato arpeggio to a high G. This edition follows Louis Oesterle's Schirmer edition, New York, 1903, with his fingering.
