The Sinfonia that opens Bach's Partita No. 2 in C minor, BWV 826, which he collected in 1731 in the first part of his Clavier-Übung. Seven bars of Grave adagio in dotted chords lead to an Andante with a long sixteenth-note melody over a walking bass, and the movement ends with a two-voice fugue in 3/4. This edition follows Bach's own first print of 1731.
