The eleventh of the thirteen pieces in Schumann's Kinderszenen, Op. 15, composed in 1838 and published in 1839. A quiet tune that opens on a repeated B, over chords sliding down chromatically, alternates with faster sections marked Schneller, where staccato chords fall off the beat; a forte passage with sf accents breaks in, and the piece ends in G major. This edition follows the Breitkopf & Härtel first edition.
