From Schumann's Carnaval, Op. 9, 'little scenes on four notes', composed in 1834–35 and published in 1837. A Passionato in G minor full of sf accents; twice it halts on an Adagio, the second marked (Papillon?), before an accelerando drives it on. This edition follows the Breitkopf & Härtel first edition.
