From Schumann's Carnaval, Op. 9, 'little scenes on four notes', composed in 1834–35 and published in 1837. A Vivo in B-flat major: the right hand leaps to accented high notes over sf chords in both staves, and a ritardando gives way to A tempo and the opening music. This edition follows the Breitkopf & Härtel first edition.
