Nos. 16 and 17 of Schumann’s Davidsbündlertänze, Op. 6, eighteen character pieces first published in 1838 under the names of Florestan and Eusebius. The two run on without a break: No. 16, Mit gutem Humor, with a trio marked Etwas langsamer, leads into No. 17, Wie aus der Ferne, which ends with a coda signed “F. u. E.”. This edition follows the first version as printed in Clara Schumann’s collected edition (Breitkopf & Härtel, 1887).
