The C minor fugue from Book II of The Well-Tempered Clavier. Four voices take up a short subject in common time, entering one by one; the lower staff is silent for the first three bars. After only 28 bars it closes on a C major chord. This edition follows Franz Kroll's Bach-Gesellschaft edition of 1866.
