The D minor fugue from Book II of The Well-Tempered Clavier, written for three voices in common time. The subject opens alone in the upper voice with rising sixteenth triplets, and triplets and plain sixteenths run against each other through the piece. After 27 bars it closes under fermatas on bare D octaves. This edition follows Franz Kroll's Bach-Gesellschaft edition of 1866.
