Frédéric Chopin

  • Difficulty 10
  • C-sharp minor

  • 83 measures

The fourth of Chopin's twelve Études Op. 10, published in 1833 and dedicated to Franz Liszt. Marked Presto and con fuoco, it passes unbroken runs of sixteenth notes from one hand to the other while the free hand strikes short accented chords, and it drives to a fortissimo close in C-sharp minor. This edition follows Maurice Schlesinger's Paris first edition of 1833, with its fingering.
