Waltz in A-flat majorOp. 42

Chopin's Waltz in A-flat major, Op. 42, published in 1840 and often called the 'Grande Valse'. A long trill opens it, and the two-beat phrases of its first theme cut across the waltz's three beats; lively sections alternate with a broad, singing middle theme before a brilliant close. This edition follows Pacini's Paris first edition, compared with the first German and English editions.
