The fourteenth of Chopin's 24 Preludes, Op. 28, published in 1839. Marked Allegro and pesante in alla breve, both hands move together an octave apart in an unbroken stream of triplet eighth notes, low and dark, swelling and fading in hairpins; it stops short on brief closing notes and rests. This edition follows Breitkopf & Härtel's first edition of 1839.
