Étude in C minorOp. 10, No. 12

Also known as Revolutionary Étude

Frédéric Chopin

  • Difficulty 9
  • C minor
  • 2 min
  • 84 measures

The last of Chopin's twelve Études Op. 10, published in 1833 and dedicated to Franz Liszt. Allegro con fuoco: the left hand pours up and down the keyboard in unbroken sixteenths while the right hand plays a fierce melody in octaves and chords, and the piece ends on C major chords. The name 'Revolutionary' is not Chopin's. This edition follows Maurice Schlesinger's Paris first edition.
