Grande Valse brillanteOp. 18

Frédéric Chopin

  • Difficulty 7
  • E-flat major
  • 5 min
  • 311 measures

Chopin's first published waltz, written in 1833 and published in 1834 with a dedication to Laura Horsford. Marked Vivo, it opens with a fanfare of repeated B-flats and then strings together a chain of bright dance tunes, from light staccato figures to singing melodies, before a brilliant coda. This edition follows Breitkopf & Härtel's collected edition of Chopin's works.
