Waltz in B minorOp. 69, No. 2

Frédéric Chopin

  • Difficulty 5
  • B minor
  • 3 min
  • 146 measures

Chopin wrote this waltz in Warsaw in 1829; it was published only after his death, in 1855, when Julian Fontana issued it as Op. 69 No. 2. A melancholy melody over a gentle waltz bass alternates with a livelier section marked con anima, and at the centre stands a sweet B major section with dotted rhythms and chords in the right hand. This edition follows Herrmann Scholtz's Peters edition of 1879, with its fingering and pedalling.
