Prelude in G minorOp. 28 No. 22

Frédéric Chopin

  • Difficulty 8
  • G minor
  • 1 min
  • 42 measures

The twenty-second of Chopin's 24 Preludes, Op. 28, published in 1839. Marked Molto agitato and f in 6/8, the left hand drives a stormy melody in octaves beneath restless offbeat chords in the right hand, each bar fading in a short hairpin; after a cresc. a lone high chord breaks off into rests, and ff chords lead to a closing G-minor chord under a fermata. This edition follows Breitkopf & Härtel's first edition of 1839.
