  • 72 measures

The nineteenth of Chopin's 24 Preludes, Op. 28, published in 1839. Marked Vivace and legato in 3/4, both hands leap through wide-spaced triplet eighth notes almost throughout, swelling and fading in hairpins; after a cresc. and a dim. the figures stop on a bare E-flat, and the piece ends with a high ff E-flat-major chord and a low held chord. This edition follows Breitkopf & Härtel's first edition of 1839.
