Étude in C minorOp. 25 No. 12

Chopin's Étude in C minor, the last of the twelve Études, Op. 25, published in 1837 and dedicated to Countess Marie d'Agoult. Marked Allegro molto con fuoco, in cut time, it runs in unbroken sixteenth-note arpeggios that rise and fall across the keyboard in both hands, with the melody on the accented top notes; it builds from f to fff and ends on a held C-major chord. This edition follows the 1879 Breitkopf & Härtel collected edition.
