Chopin's Étude in G-flat major, the ninth of the twelve Études, Op. 25, published in 1837 and dedicated to Countess Marie d'Agoult. Marked Allegro assai and leggiero, in 2/4, it is short: the right hand plays light figures of octaves, partly slurred and partly staccato, over left-hand basses and offbeat chords. A marcato passage rises to ff appassionato, and the light motion returns leggierissimo. This edition follows the 1879 Breitkopf & Härtel collected edition, with its printed fingering.
