Prelude in C minorBWV 847

The C minor prelude from Book I of The Well-Tempered Clavier. Both hands run in steady sixteenth notes, and through the first 24 bars each bar repeats one broken-chord figure. From bar 28 a Presto pours out over a low G held in the bass, bar 34 slows to an Adagio with rolled chords, and an Allegro leads to the close: 38 bars ending on a C major chord over a low C, with a fermata. This edition follows Franz Kroll's Bach-Gesellschaft edition of 1866.
