Fuga XVIII a 3Fugue in G-sharp minor · BWV 887 · II

The G-sharp minor fugue from Book II of The Well-Tempered Clavier, written for three voices in 6/8 time. The subject opens alone in the soprano; the alto answers in the fifth bar and the bass enters in the thirteenth. After 143 bars the fugue closes on a bare G-sharp, without a third. This edition follows Franz Kroll's Bach-Gesellschaft edition of 1866.
