The C-sharp major prelude from Book I of The Well-Tempered Clavier, 104 bars in 3/8 with seven sharps and many double sharps. The right hand opens with six sixteenth notes a bar over a left hand in quarter and eighth notes; from bar 9 the hands swap these roles, and they keep trading them as the music moves through related keys. The piece ends on a C-sharp major chord in both hands. This edition follows Franz Kroll's Bach-Gesellschaft edition of 1866.
